About Us
The First-Ever Student-run
School Newspaper Presented at HWSS
Kodiak Times is a student-run school newspaper published by the newspaper club here at Heritage Woods. The club has been running since June of 2018. The writers share articles regarding school/community events, crucial information such as scholarships and contests, or their own opinions or critiques on various topics as they like.
The benefits of joining our club are the following:
1. Get to have a voice as a part of the student body
2. Get to improve writing skills through experienced editors’ feedback
3. Get to have more connections throughout all departments.
Kodiak Times strives to be an outlet where students can openly share their opinions or thoughts and now it is time for YOU to be heard.
Club Meetings
The club meetings are on the last Monday of each month. At meetings, we make sure that articles are ready to be published the following week and discuss possible topics for the following month’s publication. The club is open to anyone who is interested in literature or journalism so if you know anybody that likes writing, go recruit them! Even if you are not confident in your writing, do not worry. Our editors are here to help you. We are always seeking writers!
